Avoid close contact
What is Social Distancing?
Social distancing means keeping a scale distance (approximately 6 feet) from others avoiding gathering spaces such as schools, churches, concert halls, and public transportation.
The practice of social distancing means staying home and away from others as much as possible to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The practice of social distancing encourages the use of things such as online video and phone communication instead of in-person contact.
How can I practice Social distancing?
Wear a face mask or covering when you are not in your home and whenever you are around people who are not members of your household. Maintain at least 6 feet of distance between yourself and others. Avoid crowded places, particularly indoors, and events that are likely to draw crowds. Other examples of social and physical distancing to avoid larger crowds or crowded spaces are:
Working from home instead of at the office
Closing schools or switching to online classes
Visiting loved ones by electronic devices instead of in-person
Canceling or postponing conferences and large meetings
Stay 6 feet away from others
Inside your home
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
If possible, maintain 6 feet between the person who is sick and other household members.
Outside your home
Remember that some people without symptoms may be able to spread the virus.
stay at least 6 feet from others, especially if you are at higher risk of getting very sick.
Avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces
Being in crowded places like restaurants, bars, fitness centers, or movie theaters puts you at higher risk for COVID-19.
Avoid indoor spaces that do not offer fresh air from the outdoors as much as possible.
If indoors, bring in fresh air by opening windows and doors, if possible.
