Symptoms of covid-19


While Covid 19 pandemic sweeps across the globe, it is important to understand the transmission and the effect of the virus which has made it a pandemic. Covid 19 belongs to the coronavirus family, which also includes the SARS virus (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) and MERS (Middle East Respiratory Symptoms) virus. The family of Coronavirus includes virus strains that cause the common cold and flu.  

 What are the main symptoms of covid-19?

COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization.

Most people Who Are Infected With The SARS-CoV-2 Virus Have Respiratory Symptoms. They Start To Feel A Little Bit Unwell, They Will Have A Fever, They May Have A Cough Or A Sore Throat Or Sneeze. In Some Individuals, They May Have Gastrointestinal Symptoms. Others May Lose The Sense Of Smell Or The Sense Of Taste.

    Some people who get COVID-19 may be asymptomatic but for those experiencing symptoms, the following, varying from mild to severe, may appear 2-14 days after exposure

    • Fever
    • Dry Cough
    • Tiredness
    • Loss of Taste or smell





    In addition to other symptoms can include:-

      Less common symptoms:
      sore throat
      headache
      aches and pains
      diarrhea
      a rash on the skin, or discoloration of fingers or toes
      red or irritated eyes


      Serious symptoms:
      difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
      loss of speech or mobility, or confusion
      chest pain
